Best known for films like Wolverine and Logan, James Mangold is considered one of the best American filmmakers in the industry. He is also directing and co-writing Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the fifth and final film in the Indiana Jones franchise, which will be released next year.
He is reportedly in talks to helm a project in the DC Universe with James Gunn and Peter Safran, the newly appointed CEOs of Warner Bros Discovery’s DC Studios.
Since their arrival, the DCU is undergoing major changes in the franchise as they are preparing a 10-year plan to meet the needs of Warner Bros. While, their plans are still in development, the upcoming projects lined up for the next few years will eventually be hinting at the possible opportunities for the franchise to add new directors onboard.
The franchise is reportedly eyeing James Mangold, James Wan, Andy Muschietti, and a few others who can align with the requirements the franchise needs at that moment.
According to Deadline, “On the other hand, we hear that WME-repped Flash director Andy Muschietti and Indiana Jones director James Mangold are excited to do business with the Gunn/Safran-led studio.“
While there is yet to wait for official confirmation from the franchise, it will surely be a feast for the fans who would want to see his work in the superhero world!
